Content of this release

  • particle hair for hair/eyebrows/eyelids/body hair (with UI support)

Requirements

The requirements below are a guideline. The model might work also on pc which are not meeting the requirements. In fact, I do not have a lot of pc where to test the models!

Minimum for 2K renderings:

  • at least 8 Gb of RAM
  • a GPU with >=4GB RAM

Optimal requirements to avoid rendering out of memory crashes with 4K textures:

  • 16 Gb of RAM
  • RTX 2080 for OptiX renderings, a >=8Gb GPU RAM for GPU renderings

Note: These requirements might vary in future updates due to new optimizations, but do not expect miracles.

Instructions

  • It's mandatory to install the Blender addon rig_tools.zip provided in this release (remember to restart Blender before using the model), which enables the IK rig, etc.. The UI will check this and raise a warning if the addon is not correctly installed and enabled. If you are not sure how to install the addon, google it!

  • The textures are provided in separate .zip files. You should download the 4K textures only if you have at least 16GB, otherwise Blender might crash during renderings. We advise to use 4K textures only for renderings. Moreover downscaled textures (2K) are provided, which should also work on any system. To use the textures, simply unpack the zipped texture folder in the same folder of the model. To switch from 4K to 2K, or the contrary, just be sure that the folder you want to use is named "texture", and rename the other.

  • Do not delete the lux_rig_fist action, otherwise the fist controller will not work.

  • All the custom properties are in the new UI. A tutorial is available at: https://github.com/Mustard2/MustardUI/wiki/Tutorial

  • The UI should be available after appending the model without any further action. If not, try to save and restart the Blender file where you appended the model.

  • The model use Corrective Smooth modifiers. If you find some odd clipping while posing the model, try to disable them in the UI.

  • I decided not to implement the physics myself because there are tools which are way better than any attempt I could make. :)
